The Process Technician is responsible for aseptically processing human cells, tissues, and cellular and tissue-based products for transplant in a controlled and regulated medical device environment. This position requires the Process Technician to aseptically sterilize and maintain an ISO (International Organization for Standardization) certified cleanroom. Process Technicians are required to work with potential biologic hazardous tissue/waste. In addition, the Process Technician will be responsible to work independently as well as in a team environment in the operations value chain in a 24/7 operation. This position may require mandatory overtime to meet business needs which include the scheduled workday as well as weekends and holidays.

Responsible for supporting R&D activities by conducting experiments related to product and process development, preparing different allograft tissue forms based on protocols or SOPs, preparing test samples, developing and executing test protocols, and analyzing experimental data. Technician performs aseptic tissue recovery according to established guidelines and procedures. Responsible for performing all tissue recovery activities with other personnel according to locally established protocols and policies. Is able to aseptically recover or assist with the recovery of postmortem tissues including bone, connective tissue, heart, veins, and skin. Promotes and supports donation, functions in the role as back table &/or dissector, as a Tech III. Collaborates with Recovery Coordinator to provide training of recovery. The Donor Screening Specialist will coordinate all functions and documentation of information related to the donor referral process. Screen and evaluate donors with referring agencies to ensure potential donors meet medical criteria for donation. This role will perform and coordinate all Triage functions and determine medical suitability with processors. The Triage Coordinator/Triage Coordinator-Transplant (TC) is responsible for responding to incoming calls from hospitals and other referring agencies for both initial and update calls, collecting data regarding potential donors to determine if they are candidates for donation, and informing the caller of donation potential. In addition, this position will handle all organ allocation related processes for donation, transplantation and research.
