Cost Accountant

Responsible for all cost accounting functions. Development, ongoing review and analysis of all standard cost and manufacturing variances. Analyzes and reports on processing costs and procedures.

Remote position with the ability to come into the Edison NJ office periodically and with short notice.

Salary: $90,000

• Assists in year end audit preparations and investigates auditors' questions. Analyzes and reports on all variance accounts.
• Analyzes and reports on all trends in processing expense accounts.
• Monitors direct & indirect costs associated with production and reports on them.
• Monitors and reports on efficiencies associated with production procedures.
• Maintains standard cost system.
• Develops standard cost of all manufactured items, subcontractor items and purchased complete items.
• Develops manufacturing labor rate per hour and burden rate percentages.
• Analyzes and reports on different standard cost and manufacturing variances.
• Prepares month end closing journal entries on cost, inventory and variance adjustments.
• Reviews standard cost and performs cost revisions when appropriate.
• Analyzes work order cost report, routing cost report and product structure cost report.
• Assists on special projects and performs additional duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a combination of education and/or equivalent work experience
• Minimum 5 years accounting experience, including knowledge of product costing, variance analysis, analysis of product structures, routing and work orders, and all related cost and inventory functions.
• Knowledge of computerized accounting systems, including ERP system(s), electronic data interface and Microsoft Office. Experience in QAD system and F9 is preferred
  Well-organized and self-motivated. Excellent communications skills
