Supervisor, Laboratory QC

Oversee laboratory staff, employee training and analytical testing performed in the laboratory. Manage and be responsible for the sampling and release in the goods receipt inspection area, in conjunction with the QC technicians and their management. Monitor daily workflow, order supplies, review calibrations and reports associated with all laboratory functions. Ensure laboratory testing meets all regulatory agency requirements while maintaining MTF values and providing a safe environment for employees. Responsible for tracking sample results and providing monthly reports to ensure transparency of sample status. Provide testing support and partner with various business units at MTF to monitor developing testing needs. Interact with various departments within MTF to coordinate sample collection, receipt and testing. Attend interdepartmental meetings to provide laboratory representation.

• Supervises laboratory staff during validations and testing as required by MTF and regulatory agencies.
• Responsible for managing the sampling and release of materials in the Goods Receipt area in conjunction with the QC Technicians and in accordance with the agreed priorities of supply chain. Ensuring through the cross-department resources and communication that samples and disposition is completed within agreed time frames.
• Perform management activities like, but not limited to: scheduling, training, performance evaluations and developments, merit and bonus recommendations for designated personnel with guidance from upper management and HR.
• Responsible for ensuring all testing performed in the laboratory is properly validated and is performed to the validated methodologies.
• Responsible for Training employees and overseeing their training files.
• Responsible for troubleshooting instrumentation.
• Foster relationships with instrument and calibration vendors.
• Monitor inventory and order supplies to ensure proper quantities are available for testing demands.
• Ensure audit ready functions and support internal/ external audits.
• Perform and supervise testing for the Technical Operations, Production, Quality and Research/Development operations of the MTF facilities.
• Review and approve routine laboratory data to assure expedited turnaround times for MTF tissue releases.
• Provide support for validations as deemed necessary for new and/or existing projects or devices.
• Create and revise laboratory operating procedures, work instructions and forms in the EDMS. Maintain a list of all department forms and documents.
• Responsible for initiating and closing NCRs affecting the laboratory.
• Schedule calibrations and maintain calibration records for all equipment required to efficiently operate the laboratory.
• Assist with budget and cost analyses.
• Assist on special projects and performs additional duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree in a science field
• 5 + years experience in a testing laboratory
• 2 + years supervisory experience
• Must be self directed, service and goal oriented.
• Ethical, exhibiting strong communications, supportive to upper management. Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Excellent computer skills required.
• Working knowledge of cGLP, cGMP required within regulatory requirements.
